Course Fact Sheet - Motorcycle Theory

From 14th November 2002, Anyone wishing to take a practical motorcycle test will be required to pass a Theory / Hazard Perception test, including Full Car Licence holders,however, a theory test is not required for CBT.

All candidates taking the theory test will select their answers by simply touching a computer screen, instead of marking answers on a sheet of paper. Candidates will have 40 minutes to answer 50 test questions, which are multiple choice. After a break of 3 minutes the Hazard Perception test will start, consisting of 14 video clips, each lasting a minute, the clips feature various hazards, which must be responded to by pressing a mouse button. The cost of the test is £30.00.

To book a theory test: you can send off an application form, available from the Post Office, or you can book over the phone, using credit or debit cards by ringing 0870 0101372. An automated voice will answer, don’t bother listening, just press your star button (marked *) twice and dial 11, which will put you through to an operator who deals with theory tests and don’t forget to ask for a Motorcycle Theory Test. You will be asked where you want to take your test, the nearest centres to PARAGON are Fareham and Portsmouth, the addresses are detailed below. The operator will want to know your driving licence number, so have it handy.
