The new style Test  was implemented as of Monday, April 27th, 2009.
What does it mean?  The new style  Test will now be taken in two parts, an 'Off road' section, (Mod 1) and an 'On road' section (Mod 2). The Off road section will take about 10 minutes and will consist of manoeuvres such as the 'U' turn, Emergency stop, Collision avoidance exercise, slalom, and a few more similar exercises, this section must be passed before you take Mod 2, the 40 minute road ride. It is unlikely that you will be able to take these two parts of the Test on the same day. You will need to have passed a Motorcycle theory test before doing the practical test. The New Test centre is on the HMS Daedalus site at Lee on Solent.
